Litter Size Of Black Bears

What are the most cubs a black bear can have?  Pennsylvania has the record with six. There are often two or three cubs in every litter. Western North America is where two is most prevalent. In North America, where food is more plentiful than in the West, three is most frequent from Minnesota to Maine.

Tom Sears saw a family of five cubs in New Hampshire in April 2007, right after they emerged from their lair. Six weeks later, at around five months of age, he took pictures of the cubs. Litter Size Of Black Bears

Unusually for such a huge litter, all five cubs made it through the first year. They were probably fed more since their actions were consistent enough to warrant it.
